A Taste of Peace: Practicing Skills for Tricky Topics

A Taste of Peace.png

Moments of conflict or tension are often scary to us because we fear the battle these “tricky topics” might spark. A disagreement over theology could devolve into a church split. A concern over a school’s curriculum could divide a community. A household comment about chores could drudge up hurt from years ago. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Dialogue is a fundamental skill, and it is something that Peace Catalyst International (PCI) uses to bridge divides, grow understanding, and build peace in conflict. Dialogue invites us to care for each other and solve our problems together, even when we don’t agree.

Join us for an introductory experiential workshop on the basics of Dialogue, including:

  • the basic practices of dialogue

  • the underlying goals and principles for effective dialogue

  • direct practice dialoguing with others around a tricky topic! This month we will practice dialoguing about 'Critical Race Theory and Teaching Race in Schools'.

Every month we will be hosting a “taster” session, introducing participants to some key peacebuilding skills and a chance to learn more about our work. Follow our social media channels and sign up for our newsletter to be notified about future sessions!
