The Big Table, hosted annually in Louisville, KY, is one of the world’s largest potlucks. This is a place for neighbors of all walks of life, all backgrounds, and all beliefs to come together around tables of shared food. The goal is to create a space for all neighbors to come together to connect, especially in a time when our society holds so many opposing points of view.
Because of the ongoing spread of the Delta variant, instead of a potluck this year, the Big Table will be a Big Walk & Talk at the Big Four Bridge which connects Louisville to Indiana. This year, like everyone else, we’re pivoting the way we think about bringing together people in our community by offering a new way to interact with each other. One that feels safe for these times, gets people moving and keeps people connected.
Bring your favorite walking shoes and a friend, and share your story with some new people to help make our community a better place. Do not be intimidated! We have developed a fun and simple process for helping strangers connect and tell stories.
Experience the magic that happens when you take a walk in someone else's shoes. See how your story can expand our collective understanding.
