A Taste of Peace: Lenses of Biblical Peace and the War in Ukraine - ONLINE

So many of today's struggles and conflicts can seem overwhelming and intractable. Often our instinct is to make these conflicts simply go away by ignoring them, giving up what we care about, or fighting to destroy the other side.

At Peace Catalyst, we believe the Bible shows us a deep and transformative view of working for reconciliation in the midst of painful conflict. Rather than fighting or fleeing, the peace of the Bible, shalom, invites us into the hard work of moving toward conflict with the long-term vision of flourishing for all and true reconciliation—that is, just and caring relationships—with our enemies.

Join us for this introductory experiential workshop where you’ll get:

  • A brief theological introduction to peace—shalom—in the Bible

  • An understanding of "right relationships" as the heart of peace and justice

  • Practice applying a shalom vision to a modern conflict through the lenses of Truth, Mercy, Justice, and Peace (introduced through an exercise from expert peacebuilder John Paul Lederach)

This month, we'll be using the lenses of Biblical Peace to look at the ongoing war in Ukraine, reflecting on what a future healing and reconciliation might entail.

Every month, we host a “taster” session to introduce participants to some key peacebuilding skills and a chance to learn more about our work.

All of our work, including free trainings like these and peacebuilding work in our local communities, is made possible by the generous donations of peacemakers like you. If you find these resources valuable, please consider donating at www.peacecatalyst.org/donate.
