Introduction to Community Peacebuilding

This 2-hour workshop will give you an introduction to the core concepts and practices of Peace Catalyst International’s Community Peacebuilding framework.

Community Peacebuilding empowers changemakers to better understand their context, connect across differences, and collaborate with neighbors for the common good of the community. We do this using:

  • Conflict transformation skills

  • Community organizing

  • Asset-based community development

  • Network weaving

  • and more!

Deep community is born out of care for and trust between neighbors. When we begin to connect to those around us and work with them for good, a flourishing community of hope and possibility emerges.

But how do we do this? How do we build authentic relationships with our neighbors? How do we understand what’s happening under the surface in our communities? With so many important needs, how do we know where to get involved?

Peace Catalyst’s Community Peacebuilding process takes community-minded people deep into this journey of exploration and integration. Based on our core Understand-Connect-Collaborate approach to peacebuilding, we guide caring neighbors, community connectors, and changemakers along the path of transforming our relationships and neighborhoods.
