Peacebuilding is like an intricate tapestry woven from diverse strands of work, encompassing a wide array of activities and processes aimed at transforming conflict, healing relationships, and fostering a durable and just peace. This multifaceted endeavor can be challenging to grasp fully due to both its scope and specificity in particular contexts and relationships. If Christians are to follow Jesus in God’s mission to build a holistic and just peace, then we must build greater understanding in Christian communities about peacebuilding frameworks and practices.
Discussion questions:
Big Picture of Peacebuilding: What eye-opening moments have you experienced to help you understand key components of peacebuilding? What has your experience taught you that peacebuilding must include?
Christian Misunderstandings: What specific misunderstandings exist in your Christian community about peacebuilding work? What have you learned to emphasize to help Christians understand the breadth and depth of peacebuilding work more clearly?
This call is hosted by the Christian Peacebuilding Network, a multi-org group we helped found, and is part of a series of monthly conversations to help connect Christian peacebuilders and discuss themes related to peacebuilding and the Christian faith.
