Get Trained in Nonviolent Communication

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a powerful resource that can help peacemakers experience life-giving connection. NVC can transform our ability to care for ourselves while improving the quality of our relationships with people around us.

In this course we will share with you an understanding of NVC that not only retains all its power to support connection but also adds an awareness of power, privilege, and equity issues necessary for building peace within our wider society and community. We invite you to experience this new integrated approach to NVC, created by expert trainer Roxy Manning, Ph.D., in our new training course, NVC for ALL.

Over the course of eight sessions, we’ll cover the fundamental concepts of Nonviolent Communication, and then go even further. As we explore the four steps of the basic NVC model, we will include strategies to help decrease the likelihood of perpetuating existing social inequities. We will learn about the ways some uses of “nonviolent” and “peacemaking” language can inadvertently replicate larger societal structures that silence and disempower people from historically marginalized groups, and we will look at ways to use Nonviolent Communication to lift up and discuss inequities when they exist, rather than contribute to silencing and erasure.

If you’re excited about learning Nonviolent Communication in a way that can support your desire to address larger systemic inequities in addition to supporting personal change, please join us!
