Bridging Difficult Divides: Connecting Across Differences in this Election Season

Thursday, October 24,
8-9:30pm Eastern / 5-6:30pm Pacific
Free

Just weeks away from the presidential election, the US feels incredibly tense and polarized. These tensions show up in our families and communities as well as in the news and national politics. Moments of conflict are often scary to us because we fear the battle these “tricky topics” might spark. We can feel hopeless or discouraged that talking with the political "other" is ever worth the trouble. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Dialogue is a fundamental skill, one that we at Peace Catalyst International use to bridge divides, grow understanding, and build peace in conflict. Dialogue invites us to care for each other and connect on a heart level, even when we don’t agree.

Join us for an introductory experiential workshop on the basics of dialogue, including:

  • the basic practices of dialogue and when to use it

  • the underlying goals and principles for effective dialogue

  • interactive practice dialoguing with other participants

**NOTE: This is an interactive workshop. Please come prepared to converse with others, be fully present, and on-screen if possible. Because it is interactive, the workshop will not be recorded.
